Welcome to our school website. I am very proud to be able to share with you the range of fantastic opportunities and new developments at Tealing Primary School. Tealing Primary School is a community-centred, rural school in Angus. We are very fortunate to have extensive outdoor spaces comprising of hard court areas and a large grassed pitch. We also have an outdoor classroom called the STEM Shed, used to support outdoor learning and learning in STEM.

At Tealing, we believe that children should develop responsible attitudes and be partners in their learning with opportunities to ask questions, seek answers and solve-problems as they grow and develop. We make excellent use of our rural context with children able to develop skills outdoors, including growing and harvesting their own produce.

We have a wonderful pond area that was developed with our fantastic school community. This area aims to increase biodiversity; providing an aquatic environment for wildlife. This project earned the school a nomination for a 'Nature of Scotland' award in 2020 - an achievement of which we are all very proud.

Children demonstrate that they are confident, effective contributors through engagement in our pupil-led groups. We have high expectations and aspirations at Tealing, helping us to be successful learners and to enjoy a number of achievements which we will share on this website.

The school is very well supported by a strong Parent Council, our wider parent body, local community members and Community Council. Very strong links are made with the local community through monthly Community Cafés and partnership working with various companies.

We believe that education is a partnership between home, school and the community and we value the interest and support of our stakeholders. I hope that this website will provide you with plenty of information about our school and what your children engage in whilst here. It will grow and develop over time and we would be grateful for any contributions or suggestions you may have.

Sincerely,

Mr Michael Smith M.Ed.

Head Teacher
